Welcome
HumPar
- Portuguese Association For The Humanized Childbirth, is a civilian
non‑for‑profit organization with the main purpose of Humanize the
childbirth in Portugal, through the disclosure of information that
should lead to changes and improvements in the pregnant women’s
treatment and their families during pregnancy, birth labor and
post-partum. The final goal is to achieve the great level of treatment
that several other developed countries have implemented through a
Humanized Childbirth model, whether it is located at hospital
facilities, residences or dedicated facilities.
HumPar
aims to gather
all the people interested in fighting for the Humanized Childbirth in
Portugal, regardless of his/her area of expertise, and already counts
with individuals from very different settings, like Mothers, Fathers,
Future parents, Midwifes, Psychologists, Obstetricians, Pediatricians,
Doulas, Nurses, among others.
We believe that these united voices will eco
in the government officials and deciding boards, and will penetrate
heart and reasoning of each professional, who in any way are connected
to the treatment of pregnant women and their families, changing
practices and promoting a treatment centered around the specific needs
of each person and recognizing the women’s capacity to give birth and by
dignifying the whole pregnancy and childbirth, while giving back the
protagonist role to the mother and family.
We know that this question does not appeal
only to a small group of people. After all, we all were born, many among
us are parents, some even grand parents and we all have friends that
have lived or will live the most sublime experience of motherhood.
We
also believe that you will not be indifferent and we count on you to
make these objectives come true in Portugal.
Thank you
for your visit and support!
